De flooding a rotary

The quick way:

It's worth trying this one first - works for all generations of RX7 and the RX8 as well...

Hold the accelerator down to the floor and then crank the engine for about 30 seconds - repeat this a 2nd time if needed. Holding the accelerator down cuts fuel injection completely whilst cranking, and should clear the fuel from the rotor chambers - having the throttle open will help force air through. Once it's cleared the engine should fire right up.

The long way:

Ok, if the above doesn't work - and it doesn't always, then you need to use this approach.

Locate the fuse box in the engine bay and remove the fuse marked 'EGI' - this stops the ignition and fuel injection circuits from working. Now remove the lower 2 spark plugs (leading plugs). Once these are out, crank the engine for about 30 seconds whilst holding the accelerator down, wait about 20 seconds and repeat. There should be plenty of white mist coming out of the engine bay - it's fuel - so don't smoke near it. Once this has stopped and you hear regular rythmic wooshing noises, stop cranking.

Now clean the plugs and refit them - it's also worth checking the 2 upper plugs as well while you are in the engine bay. Finally refit the 'EGI' fuse and try firing the car up.
If both these steps fail, then you may need to tow the car whilst trying to start it.

NOTE: For both these procedures, make sure you have a well charged battery or get jumper leads to another car so you don't flatten the battery.
